What is a Carbon Garden?

A carbon garden is a special type of garden, made by planting native fauna which are great at biologic carbon sequestration! By getting areas made of just grass, you can start a carbon garden. Quest science center has been working with multiple schools around the bay area to use carbon gardens to help fight all the CO2 emissions.

How does it work?

First, you have to find a grassy area to plant your garden. Then plant species like Carex Praegracilis, Calamagrostis Foliosa, and other species that are good at creating oxygen. The best part about these gardens is that they require minimal amounts of water, are low maintenance, and supports local wildlife like birds! These plants actually take CO2 from the air and store it in the soil.

Overall, you should consider possibly starting up a carbon garden in your home!
