SINGLE STEAM RECYCLING

Picture this: a recycling revolution where you can toss paper, glass, plastic, and metal all into one recycling bin—no sorting headaches, just pure simplicity. Now, here's the lowdown: when your recyclables embark on their journey to the recycling plant, it's like they're hitting the dance floor with state-of-the-art machines, rocking conveyor belts, and futuristic optical sorters.

PLASTICS IN RECYCLING

Each year, 350 million tonnes of plastic is thrown away each year. How much of that do you think gets recycled correctly? Only 9% of that is correctly recycled. That means out of the possible 350 million tonnes, 31.5 tonnes of that is recycled correctly. In 2018, only 32.1% was recycled, or just 10.1 tons. Compared to the possible 350 million possible tonnes, the measly ten is nothing, and we need to work on increasing that number.

RECYCLING CORRECTLY

So, how can you do your part in recycling correctly? First, let's start with knowing what to recycle. To do our part, we should be recycling papers and cardboard. Things such as newspapers and packages should always be recycled. Plastics should too - bottles, tubs and anything else that has plastic should be recycled. Metals, products with glass, and clothing all should as well. By doing your part, you can help the Earth by recycling!

WHAT IF WE DON'T RECYCLE?

If we don't recycle, our environment suffers. Landfills overflow with non-biodegradable waste, polluting soil and water. Resources are depleted faster, leading to more deforestation and mining. Recycling is crucial for reducing waste, conserving resources, and safeguarding the health of our planet for future generations. So, be sure to do your part, and make sure you are helping to work towards a better look for the Earth!

We hope that you have found this blog helpful and that you will see the importance in recycling! Make sure to keep on staying safe and we will see you again soon!
